Dreaming Eggs is a fictional investigation by a woman, who tries to find the right sperm donor based on her memory of her childhood love. The screen captures the sperm donors’ childhood photos displayed on a sperm bank website. The potential customer can choose the ethnic root of the donor, academic accomplishments, personality, and the physical traits such as height, eye color and hair color. The other shopping websites and the descriptions and the photos of the products interrupt the woman’s search.
Her unresolved search for the lost childhood love and the right sperm donor continues in her dream, where she is confronted by the duality of romantic love and the artificiality of reproduction in contemporary society.
