Casted soap, rose essence, towels, aluminum, water, plastic

Thinking of the public bathroom soap bars prevalent in Seoul as a medium that connects strangers, the casted soap hands of an elderly lady were used by the visitors to be deformed and unwrinkled throughout the duration of the exhibition.
Considering the specific location of where the work was exhibited, the relationship between the local people at the run-down market hall and the visitors of the gallery were mediated by this sculpture. The casted soap hands were washing the hands of the visitors and at the same time being washed and changed its form by the interaction, just like how the art space impacts the social dynamics in the market hall.
